Navy and Grey Office Makeover Reveal

Usually I have several months or weeks to plan and complete a room makeover. For my mom’s office makeover I only had about 2 weeks due to our move back to Charleston! Despite the limited time frame, I was able to squeeze in several easy but high impact DIY projects.

I love how this pretty, navy and grey office makeover turned out!

And let’s take a look at the before photo of this space.

Wow what a difference right?! I think the biggest and easiest DIY transformation for this space was a fresh coat of paint. Brandon helped me to knock this part out in one weekend. We used Dolphin Fin by Behr in eggshell.

I especially love the new navy and cream rug!

The next easy and budget friendly transformation I did was reusing the desk and one of the chairs in the space by painting them, adding new hardware (for the desk) and new fabric (for the chair). I talked about the details of the painted desk makeover here. And here is a before and after photo of the chair:

Also, I’m obsessed with the cream and navy rug I used to cover up the outdated white carpet. It really helped to bring the space together. The rug was really affordable too!

My favorite DIY project for this space is the IKEA Billy bookcase hack with shiplap! It turned out great and adds a wow factor to the room along with lots of extra storage.

On the bookcase, I added these cute DIY magazine holders. I’m planning to do a tutorial post on them soon!

Since I didn’t have much time for this home office makeover I was unable to add any wall art. Instead I added my “Create the things you wish existed” calligraphy printable in a cute, wood picture frame (similar here). You can get the free printable in the library of free printables!

Finally, I finished the space off with brass hardware decor, like the the curtain rod and desk lamp, and lots of natural texture decor items, including the bamboo blinds, wicker basket, linen like curtains, greenery and roses.

It’s such a calm and pretty space, perfect for a home office! My mom loved the finished result! What do you think?

Beautiful and inspiring! Do you think a rolling office chair would be able to roll on the rug?

Thank you! Yes the rug is a very flat weave so it should roll fine on it!

What color did you use for the bamboo blinds?

I think it was the natural color! Not the darker brown.
