Easy ideas for the under the kitchen sink organization to help get your kitchen cabinets organized and tips to maximize storage space with DIY under kitchen sink storage ideas!
While replacing our kitchen sink as part of our kitchen island makeover, I realized we really needed to add under the kitchen sink organization since the cabinet had become very cluttered and messy.
Today I am sharing how I organized under our kitchen sink!

How to organize under the kitchen sink:
1. Declutter
First, I started by emptying everything out and decluttering. Getting rid of anything you don’t need or use is key!
2. Start with an under the sink mat
A few months ago we had a small, slow leak under our kitchen sink. It caused some damage and I wish I had an under sink mat then! But, we have one now!
This under sink mat is made of food grade silicone and waterproof! It’s the perfect solution for protecting the cabinets under sinks from water and it’s great for easily wiping down too since it can get messy/dirty under the kitchen sink.

I think it’s way better than any kind of shelf liner and quicker to add in too!
It’s available in all different colors and sizes so you can have a perfect fit in your cabinet. Further, the under sink mat I used can actually be cut with scissors too if you need to adjust the size or cut around a pipe.
3. Under Sink Organizer
I’m not sure how I went so long without an under sink organizer.

This 2 tier under sink organizer has been great for storing our commonly used kitchen sink items like dish gloves, brushes, dish soap, cleaners, and more!
It has 5 adjustable heights and the top and bottom shelves both pull out which is very convenient. I would say this 2 tier under sink organizer is the #1 best under the sink organizer to help maximize space!

4. Clear Stackable Storage Drawers
I love these clear, stackable storage drawers made of acrylic.
They keep everything nice and tidy and you can easily see what’s inside of them. They are also available in multiple sizes too!

These stackable storage drawers are another great way to organize under the kitchen sink.
I am storing our new plant based sponges (that are also biodegradable) in them!
5. Sink Trays
Sink trays are traditionally used in the top drawer pull out under a sink. However, with our farmhouse sink, I chose to install them on each side of our cabinet doors under the kitchen sink.

I love storing away our daily sponges and drain that we use to leave out in the sink. Having these out of sight makes me happy!

I hope these under kitchen sink organization ideas have been helpful!
Our current kitchen may still be under renovation, but having under the kitchen sink organization makes me feel a little more together and accomplished every day when I open up our cabinet!
