An easy and budget friendly porch refresh for spring in just one day with the help of Lowe’s Home Improvement!

One of my favorite ways to welcome spring is a spring porch refresh or porch makeover! And today I am sharing how we refreshed Brandon’s parents front porch just in time for enjoying the warm, spring weather!
Here is the BEFORE of their front porch:

And the AFTER!

Here are all of the details of this spring porch refresh!
We wanted to complete the refresh in just one day and keep it budget friendly, beautiful, and functional!
I found everything that I needed at Lowe’s for this porch refresh! They always have all of the products that I need at the best value.
Whether it’s lumber, home improvement products, or anything related to the outdoors, they make my DIY life easier! And I love that they have a great selection of products and seasonal items too, so I can always find the style and look that I want!

Pressure Washing the Porch
I kicked this refresh off by pressure washing the porch floor and siding. Everything was covered with yellow pollen, it’s really intense here in Charleston in the spring!

I used our new pressure washer, the Greenworks electric pressure washer, which is currently on sale right now for Lowe’s SpringFest!
It’s my favorite new DIY tool and works great! This Greenworks electric pressure washer is lightweight, easy to maneuver and easy to assemble. The nozzle and hose hook ups are also very easy to use.
The pressure works great as well and it was super satisfying to clean off all of the dirt and pollen. I can’t wait to use it on our front porch next.

Creating a Fresh Herb Garden with a Raised Garden Bed
We all love fresh herbs, so creating a little garden area dedicated to fresh herbs was essential for this porch refresh.

We stocked up on fresh herbs like sweet basil, rosemary, flat Italian parsley, and lavender. Lowe’s had all of the herbs that we needed for a great deal.
I found this raised garden bed that was not only cute and affordable, but super easy to put together, which was the perfect place for the herb garden!
I planted everything in organic soil for raised beds.

Planting Spring Annuals
Lowe’s had all kinds of 1 pint, spring annuals on sale. I bought several of these to use around the porch.
The wall area above the garden bed was looking too bare, so I found this wall planter set to hang above it on the wall. I planted some of the spring annuals in the planters.

I went with a yellow and white theme, using french marigolds, zinnias and impatiens, along with the Miracle-Gro potting mix.

I think this herb and flower wall is my favorite part of the refresh, it’s adorable and functional too!

Outdoor Planters and Finishing Touches
We created a sitting area on the front porch using our DIY outdoor couch and some outdoor throw pillows we already owned. We’ve actually been storing the couch at Brandon’s parents for awhile now (until we build our DIY paver patio at our house)!
We finished off the spring porch refresh with planters and the rest of the spring annual flowers, including petunias, impatiens, and dianthus.
I recently discovered dianthus and I think they are just the cutest, happy looking, spring flowers! I spotted this lined, woven basket at Lowe’s while shopping and knew it was the perfect piece to add texture and plant some of the dianthus flowers.

Also, I picked up one of these self watering planters too for the petunias and impatiens. I actually already own one of these planters in a larger size too! They look great by themselves, but they are great for using inside of other planters too because of the self watering feature!

Flowers and planters can make a huge difference when sprucing up a front porch area or back porch!
I love how this one day, spring porch refresh turned out and that there is now a dedicated outdoor space to enjoy. What do you think of this front porch refresh?!

Hopefully, these ideas I shared will help you to create your own spring porch or patio refresh just in time to enjoy the spring season!
