A review of my Amazon roman bamboo shade, with the pros and cons!

If you’ve been following for awhile, you know how much I love bamboo roman shades! They are gorgeous and add a ton of warmth and character to any room.

I even have an entire video and written review of my 3 favorite bamboo blinds!

Recently, while making over our dining room, we needed a bamboo roman shade for our windows. After adding quick and easy DIY window trim, the blinds were the last step for updating the window.

Because the window is a double window, I knew I needed to invest in a higher quality bamboo shade that would sit level and be easy to open and close. We use this space daily and need to filter the sun.

TWOPAGES Roman Shade from Amazon

I’d been seeing a new to me brand of roman shades a lot on Instagram. They are the TWOPAGES Roman Blinds from Amazon. I ordered the Grass Cinnamon color.

After checking out the listing, the photos looked beautiful, but my two biggest hesitations were the price and month long ship time.

But, as I explained in my bamboo blinds review, after owning 4 other brands of bamboo blinds, from cheap to more expensive, window shades are one of those products that you get what you pay for.

And for what you get for these bamboo blinds, it’s a great deal compared to other similar cordless, custom shades from high end brands.

So, I measured my window and made the order, hoping they were as good as I have heard! And let me tell you, they are!

Once installed, the shade is absolutely beautiful and a high quality look and function.

Easy to install

Just like all bamboo blinds, these Amazon bamboo shades are very easy to install.

Just mark where to install the hardware, drill pilot holes, then screw the hardware into place.

The last step is to put the shades on the hardware and tighten the wing nut.

Smooth and level lift and close

What bothers me most about lower cost bamboo blinds is that they don’t consistently sit level, sometimes they sit crooked. Also, they aren’t always very smooth when opening and closing.

For higher priced shades, like these Amazon roman shades and my other Home Depot bamboo blinds, they sit level each time they are opened and closed. Any they operate very smoothly!

Customization options

One of the reasons these shades are more expensive is because they are custom, made to order.

You can order swatch booklets to see the different material and colors up close. Twopages also has several photos with real life examples on their social media too, which I looked at a lot when picking a color since the swatch booklets don’t include every color.

Customization options include liners, edge binding, inside or outside mount, and the size.

I chose to skip the liner since we just needed light filtering in this room. Here is what they look like closed!

Bamboo roman shade material

Technically, the roman shades that I ordered are mostly jute, with some bamboo mixed in. For this reason they have a small few jute fibers that are visible up close. But, this doesn’t bother me at all!

I have the the Grass Cinnamon color.

Pros and Cons Summary: Amazon Bamboo Shades

Here is a quick summary of the pros and cons of these bamboo blinds.

Pros of the Amazon Bamboo Shades:

• Many colors and material combinations available
• Cordless
• Smooth lift and close
• Sit level when open
• Can order to the custom width and length that you need
• Beautiful, high quality look for a good price compared to other similar blinds online which are much more expensive
• Multiple customization options, including type of liner or no liner, including a blackout liner option
• Very easy to install
• Good price for the quality and look

Cons of the Amazon Bamboo Shades:

• Expensive compared to my favorite cheap bamboo blinds
• Takes about a month for the blinds to ship to home
• Some loose, visible fibers up close (this was on my jute/bamboo blinds, but not all blinds will have this)
• Does not appear to have a warranty

I hope this Amazon bamboo shades review has been helpful! These are definitely one of my new favorite bamboo blinds! I love them as much as my higher priced Home Depot bamboo blinds!
