Is Christmas really next week?! Where has this month gone? I had grand plans for decking out our newly made over living room with cute Christmas decor. But, we all ended up getting sick and after taking time to recover, the Christmas decor just didn’t quite happen like I planned!
Although, we did get our Christmas tree up and our new DIY fireplace mantel decorated!
In the past I have really loved using red and white Christmas living room decor. This year though I decided to go with a classic and natural gold, white, and green look!

On our tree I used some ornaments we already had mixed with these new gold and white ornaments (similar here & here). Side note, they are very shatter proof! Our toddler has thrown them multiple times now haha!
I also added white wool garland to our tree which I absolutely love! I actually saw this style garland on Miss Mustard Seed’s tree and I knew we had to do the same. It adds such a cozy, textural element!
I found two wool garland strands (similar here) at Walmart and then I bought two more strands when I discovered Trader Joe’s sells them for a great deal! Next year, I think I will stock up on more of them from TJ’s!
For our gift wrap, I came across this lovely wrapping paper set here (similar here) and more coordinating, ticking stripe wrapping paper (similar here). I actually ordered it in November since everything has really been selling out quickly this year!
On our mantel, which I was the most excited to decorate, and really the star of the room, I invested in some beautiful, white velvet stockings (similar here) which I hung with gold and marble stocking holders from Target.
A few years ago I made these wood stocking tags with our names. I think they look so cute over the stockings!
I found a fresh Christmas wreath at our local Whole Foods and added this pretty silk ribbon in copper.
I really wanted a nice faux garland but they were sold out everywhere by late November! At least the ones I wanted… I will shop earlier next year for one! Originally, I bought a real cedar garland from Whole Foods, but it dried up really fast.
So, I replaced it with an inexpensive faux garland from Lowe’s and mixed in some of the cedar springs and other fresh pine branches from outside.
Lastly, I added our DIY wood Christmas trees to our mantel and some battery operated twinkle lights.
Its been such a cozy, Christmas setup hanging out by our Christmas tree and mantel with the fire going every day. Are you finished your Christmas decorating and shopping?
