DIY Christmas chair decorations with mini wreaths
These DIY Christmas chair wreaths are really easy to create, the key is to use the right size mini wreath for your chair and the right ribbon!
Wreaths and chairs
For the mini wreaths, Wayfair has this beautiful set of four 10″ Cypress wreaths that were the perfect size for our chairs! They look very natural and have a few little white berries on them!
Speaking of chairs, our Bentwood style chairs are thrifted, but Wayfair does have similar options too with a similar look, like this chair set and this chair set!
If you have a larger chair, this 14″ faux cedar wreath would work well too! I used this wreath for our Christmas mirror decoration and it’s another beautiful option!
Ribbon
For the ribbon, I first tried them out with a thinner velvet ribbon and it did not work as well as the wider, 1.5″ satin ribbon I ended up using. So, I recommend using a wide ribbon (either with or without wire).
How to tie the ribbon to the chair and wreaths
I will share a video on Instagram soon showing how I tied the ribbon, but here are photos and a written tutorial!
Starting off, I cut a piece of ribbon about 4 feet long.
To tie everything together, I looped my ribbon over the top of the chair back, with one end through the wreath center. Note, if you have fabric chairs, you could use a safety pin to attach the ribbon at the top of the chair on the other side.
Then, I tied a loose knot:
Next, I tied a bow at this same spot:
Finally, I trimmed the excess ribbon at the ends with an angled cut using fabric cutting scissors for a clean cut! You can also use very sharp scissors too.
I LOVE how these turned out, I think they are just adorable and are just the look I was going for in here!
DIY Christmas centerpiece
For the Christmas centerpiece, I wanted to create a centerpiece that would look lovely either on our kitchen counter or our dining table when it’s not in use!
I loved the look of this aged, terracotta vase. I used greenery and berries we had on hand already.
I love how our Christmas centerpiece looks on our new kitchen butcher block countertops:
And it’s a lovely focal point on our dining room table too when we are not using it:
Wayfair has a ton of lovely options for Christmas centerpieces, from vases, to greenery, tabletop decor and more!
Here are some favorite centerpiece decor options I found:
